Quick Answers

Do you serve Tottenham?

Yes, we cover all of Tottenham and the surrounding area, including Beeton, Alliston, Bradford and Schomberg, and we're usually there within an hour or two of your call.

How fast can you get to Tottenham?

Tottenham is about 30 to 45 minutes from our Newmarket base, so most calls see a plumber on site within an hour or two, day or night.

Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or holidays?

No. The price we quote for a Tottenham job is the same whether it's a weekday afternoon or a holiday weekend at 2am, with no after-hours surcharge on the invoice.

Why do some of the newer subdivision homes in Tottenham already have plumbing problems?

Builder-grade fixtures and entry-level tank water heaters are built to a price point, not a lifespan, so it's common to see one give out well inside its first decade on Tottenham's newer streets.

Before We Get There

  1. Find the main shut-off. In most Tottenham homes it's in the basement or utility room, near where the water line comes in.
  2. Shut it off. Turn the valve fully until it stops.
  3. Open a low tap, a basement laundry tub or a ground-floor sink, to drain the line and take the pressure off.
  4. Skip the drain chemicals on a blocked line. They just sit there and burn whoever opens the pipe next, including us.

03 · Homes & Business

Residential

Most of our Tottenham calls are homes, and they split cleanly into two groups: older places near downtown and the mill pond with plumbing that's decades old, and newer subdivision houses where the builder-grade fixtures are starting to show their age. Either way, we quote the price before we touch anything.

Commercial

We also work the shops and small commercial spaces around Tottenham's Main Street and Queen Street core, scheduling jobs around business hours so the work doesn't cost anyone a day of trade. Same standard as a house call: the price is confirmed first and the work is backed by a real guarantee.

04 · Field Notes

What We Actually See in Tottenham Homes

Tottenham's split almost evenly between an old mill town core and a wave of newer subdivisions, and the plumbing calls follow that same split.

Around the mill pond and the old downtown

The oldest part of Tottenham grew up around the mill pond and the rail line that still runs the South Simcoe Railway's heritage steam train through town. Homes close to that core, along Queen Street and Mill Street, are mostly on original drain lines, some clay, some early cast iron, and supply lines that have often been part-replaced rather than fully redone. A recurring clog in one of those older houses is usually those original lines finally reaching the end of their run.

The newer subdivision streets

On the other side of town, Tottenham has added subdivision after subdivision over the last couple of decades as New Tecumseth has grown. Those homes run PEX and ABS, which handle Ontario's freeze-thaw cycle better than the old materials, but the builder-grade water heaters and fixtures installed at construction don't always make it to the ten-year mark before something needs attention.

Beeton Creek and the low ground

Beeton Creek runs right through the middle of Tottenham on its way to feed the millpond, and the homes closest to it sit on lower ground than the rest of town. That means more pressure on sump pumps and floor drains during spring melt and after a heavy summer storm. Here's what to do about frozen pipes if a cold snap catches an exposed line before we get there.

The auger usually tells the story before the camera confirms it.

A commuter town with two different housing eras

Tottenham's growth has been fast enough that plenty of people who bought into a new subdivision here commute out to Alliston, Bradford or further down Highway 400 for work, and that growth shows up directly in the plumbing calls we get. It's rare to spend a week in Tottenham without seeing both a hundred-year-old drain line and a five-year-old water heater on the same day.

What the housing stock tells us

Close to Mill Street and the old downtown, expect clay or cast iron drains and copper supply lines that have usually seen at least one partial repair. On the newer streets built out over the last fifteen to twenty years, it's PEX, ABS, and builder-grade everything, generally solid but not immune to a bad crimp connection or a fixture installed in a hurry.

Beyond Tottenham

We also cover Beeton, Alliston, Bradford and Schomberg, so if you're just outside Tottenham proper, call anyway.

07 · Questions

Tottenham Plumbing Questions

The questions we hear most from Tottenham homeowners, answered straight.

Do you also service Beeton, Alliston, Bradford and Schomberg?
Yes. We regularly work throughout Beeton, Alliston, Bradford and Schomberg on top of Tottenham itself. If you're not sure you're in range, call us at +1 (647) 554-5777 and we'll tell you right away.
Why does my drain keep backing up near the old downtown?
Close to Mill Street and the millpond, a lot of the sewer laterals are original clay pipe, and tree roots along Beeton Creek get into the joints over time. A snake clears the immediate blockage, but a camera inspection tells us whether root cutting or a liner is the better long-term fix.
How much will fixing my plumbing problem cost?
We look at the job in person and give you the price before any work starts. There's no callout fee just to get a number, and nothing gets added afterward.
My water heater is only a few years old, why is it already acting up?
If it's a builder-grade unit from one of Tottenham's newer subdivisions, that's actually common; those tanks are sized to a price point, not a long lifespan. We can usually tell you on the spot whether it's worth repairing or better to replace.
